How do I increase my listing's popularity?

Popularity is based on customer activity on the listings. The AppExchange measures everything users do on your listing: install, learn more, test drive, demo, screenshots, white papers, data sheets and more. The AppExchange weighs them according to their level of importance as indications of interest and filters out attempts to abuse the system.

The AppExchange recalculates popularity on a daily basis, then summarizes and evaluates results over 30 days. When you browse by category, you see listings sorted by their relative popularity over the last 30 days.

How customers have reviewed or rated the listing does not affect popularity; AppExchange visitors can sort by rating if they're interested.

Here are a few hints on improving rankings:

Include a test drive. People like being able to try out an app and the number of test drives influence popularity. You also get the added benefit of being able to collect leads.
Add images. One of the first things visitors do is click the View Screenshots button. Without screenshots, many people won't look at a listing.
Add more resources such as data sheets and white papers.
Be up front with your pricing: If you do not have pricing on your listing, people become disinterested very quickly.
